WSOP heads down under

The World Series of Poker's global expansion continues with the news that it will be heading Down Under next year. The first WSOP Asia Pacific series will be held at the Crown in Melbourne from 4-15 April 2013 with five bracelets up for grabs.

Titanic and Cokes were backing a teenage New York Fats, later to become Minnesota Fats after the movie The Hustler came out in 1961. Cokes was called Daddy Warbucks after the character in Little Orphan Annie. He was tall, bald, very rich and had an ever-present cigar.

Thomas “Amarillo Slim” Preston passes away aged 83

Four-time WSOP bracelet-winner and Poker Hall of Fame member Thomas Preston Jr, best known as “Amarillo Slim”, has passed away after a battle with cancer, aged 83. He was entered into a hospice last weekend and despite improvements could not win this last hand.
