Devastating Week for Ziigmund
Sahamies only played 957 hands this week in varying stakes of Pot-Limit Omaha but still managed to play several disastrous sessions against opponents like Brian Hastings, Phil Ivey and Dan “jungleman12” Cates.
The recent downswing is becoming the worst on record for the aggressive Finn.
At the start of 2010, Sahamies jumped out to a $2.3 million profit. He is now down $1.8 million on the year and has lost nearly $3 million since the start of October.
Even Sahamies admitted on his Facebook page that he’s on the sickest downswing of his life and will likely take a break from poker.
Sahamies did have some company in the losing department, however, as cadillac1944 lost $368k and Sauce1234 dropped $280k this week.
Even Dan “jungleman12” Cates recorded a rare week loss as he burned through $250k. Despite his loss, Cates remains the biggest winner in 2010 with $4.6 million.
URnotINdanger2 was the week’s biggest winner with $336k added to his online roll. Arbianight also had a good week posting $331k in profit, as did skjervoy, who won $292k.
Gus Hansen continued his strong play as of late by winning $264k. Getting even by the end of the year is looking like a legitimate possibility for the Great Dane who is currently down $1.1 million.
Meanwhile in Macau, the multi-million dollar game that includes Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Chai Giang and John Juanda continues to amaze railbirds around the globe.
According to this thread on twoplustwo poker forum, Dwan is still entrenched in a huge $HK10k/$HK20k match against a Chinese businessman.

Skjervøy Explodes for $367k
The CardRunners instructor recorded 1,417 hands in varying stakes of Pot-Limit Omaha and essentially dominated everyone that was willing to take him on including Arbianight, Brian Hastings and DrugsOrMe.
Skjervøy was particularly effective against Arbianight and won more than $100k in a heads-up battle.
In total Torbergsen won $367k yesterday, which made him easily the biggest winner of the day.
Torbergsen has quietly put together one of the best overall records in 2010. The Norwegian has earned nearly $3 million this year and CardRunners’ decision to sign him as an instructor looks better and better every day.
Some of the other big winners on the evening included luckexpress10 who won $146k, Gus Hansen who took down $140k and Urindanger with $114k.
Hansen continued his relentless drive to get even in 2010 and is now down only $1.7 million after being down $3.6 million in mid-October.
Yesterday wasn’t as kind to davin77 who dropped $212k, Brian Hastings who lost $165k and URnotINdanger2 who went $145k into the red.
Meanwhile the incredible live high stakes action with Tom Dwan, Phil Ivey and Chau Giang, which you can learn more about in this TwoPlusTwo thread, continues to rage in Macau.
The latest rumor is that a wealthy businessman has agreed to play Tom Dwan at $HK10k/$HK20k heads-up No-Limit provided Dwan show his cards after every hand. Apparently Dwan is stuck $HK10 million.

Nguyen Wins His Own FTOPS Event
The 2010 WSOP Main Event ninth place finisher hosted FTOPS XVIII Event 18 – and won it.
Despite his status as an amateur poker player, Nguyen was able to outlast 1,841 players to take first place in the $217 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Rush Super Turbo tournament.
While not the most name-heavy final table Nguyen did have to contend with two very good online players in David “Davidp18” Peters and IWEARGOGGLES.
Neither player could best Nguyen and the Californian took down $78,000 for his efforts.
In winning, Nguyen became just the third player to win his own tournament in the Full Tilt Online Poker Series. Erick Lindgren was the first player to do it when he won in 2008 and Greg Mueller performed the same feat in 2009.
In other FTOPS news, up and coming online sensation Sebastian “sebbau” Bauer took down Event 16 for $274k on Monday.
Jonathan “driverseat” Tamayo, who you might remember from his deep run in the 2009 WSOP Main Event, finished runner up in Event 15 for $28k and finally Jared “TheWacoKid” Hamby placed third in Event 19 for $36k.
FTOPS XVIII continues until Nov. 21 when Gus Hansen will host the $3 million-guaranteed main event.

Scott “URnotINdanger2? Palmer wins over $500k - Ziigmund is still losing
The high stakes games on Full Tilt have been a bit quiet lately, mostly because some of the FTP regulars are playing really epic cash games in Macau. Luckily there was some action earlier today as Scott “URnotINdanger2″ Palmer made nice $500k profits at the Cap PLO tables.

Palmer is now one of the biggest winners in November with Gus Hansen (+$675K) and Daniel “jungleman12″ Cates (+$455K) - when including today’s session, Palmer has won over 640,000 dollars this month.
November’s biggest losers so far are Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies (-$966K) and “cadillac1944″ (-$512K). Sahamies is still in a horrible downswing.

Scott “URnotINdanger2″ Palmer wins over $500k - Ziigmund is still losing
jungleman12 Drops $284k
Cates played 2,775 hands over the last three days including a less than successful heads-up session against David “Raptor” Benefield.
Add in several losses against Arbianight and, for a change, Cates was the one victimized, losing a total of $284,000.
With the loss Cates falls down to a $4.6 million profit in 2010 but is still the biggest winner of the year, easily surpassing Dwan’s $3.9 million.
There was plenty of action on Full Tilt this weekend with online upstart DrugsOrMe the biggest winner with an impressive $385k in profit.
Gus Hansen was close behind with $235k. Hansen, who was down $3.6 million in October, has been steadily pulling himself closer to even.
He’s now down $1.2 million and seems to be fixated on getting even before the end of the year.
Some of the other notable winners over the weekend included Arbianight with $137k in profit and David Benefield who raked in $103k.
cadillac1944 was technically the biggest loser, dropping an astounding $368k in a series of PLO games.
Yet again Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies was in the red, losing $160k. Ziigmund has now lost $1.5 million this year, after being up close to $2 million, and might want to consider a brief hiatus from the game.
harrington25 (-$165k), Vaga_Lion (-$142k) and Phil Ivey (-$68k) were also amongst the notable players to lose cash this weekend.
Here’s a look at a few of the most interesting hands from this weekend. For more information check our online poker stats section.

Page Harris (Pageh656) Wins FTOPS XVIII Event #1
The 18th installment of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) kicked off on Wednesday with a $200 No Limit Hold’em tournament that pulled in 4,500 entrants to generate a prize pool of $900,000. The event was hosted by World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event runner-up John Racener.
After more than 12 hours of play, Page “Pageh656″ Harris from Orlando, Florida took down the title following a three-way chop to claim his first FTOPS jersey and $117,434. Harris entered the final table as one of the shorter stacks, but was able to double up on the first hand when he flopped quad sixes in a pre-flop button versus blind confrontation. He ultimately bested “ZLucky93” for the jersey after recovering from a 6-1 chip disadvantage during heads-up play.
Harris discussed his experience with Poker News Daily following the win: “On the final table bubble, I had to make a big laydown on the river, which left me at the bottom of the pack. I was definitely feeling like this might end similar to other big runs in the past. I played patiently (after doubling up) since most of the players who had position on me were quite aggressive. After developing a good image, I was able to maintain my stack and accumulate without too many issues.”
“It feels great to finally win a major tournament,” Harris added. “The swings of poker are quite crazy and it feels really good at the moment. I finally feel like I have something to show for the time I have spent playing this game.”
Despite finishing third, “sir29” collected the largest payout at $121,304, as he had the chip lead when the deal was made. The biggest name at the final table was Josh “pbdrunks” Van Duyn, who had the chip lead in the late stages of the tournament, but exited in eighth place for $14,400. It’s been a stellar month for Van Duyn, who took down the Full Tilt $150 Rebuy on Sunday for $74,832.
More than 40 Full Tilt Red Pros took part in Event #1, including Huck Seed, David “The Dragon” Pham, Scott “BigRiskky” Clements, Vitaly Lunkin, and November Niner Joseph “subiime” Cheong. Only three Red Pros landed in the money: Dave Colclough led the way by finishing 107th, while Andreas Krause (304th) and Svetlana Gromenkova (422nd) also earned a small share of the prize pool.
Here’s a look at the final results of FTOPS XVIII Event #1:
1. Page “Pageh656″ Harris – $117,434.48
2. ZLucky93 – $113,881.36
3. sir29 – $121,204.16
4. a365551 – $59,400
5. RAZA14 – $44,100
6. MrTitsWiggle – $30,600
7. royalijiks – $20,700
8. Josh “pbdrunks” VanDuyn – $14,400
9. Atlfal62 – $9,900
Notable finishers included Jamie “LeoEleven” Rosen (25th), Sebastian “p00cket00″ Sikorksi (27th), Jeff “crzysavage” Gressard (33rd), Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy (45th), Matt “mattster24″ Sterling (64th), and Chris “cdbr3799″ Dombrowski (94th).
FTOPS XVIII continues on Thursday with a $240 Pot Limit Omaha Knockout event at 2:00pm ET. In all, the series comprises of 34 events ranging in just about every form of poker you could ask for. The site added a couple of new events this time around, including a $200 10-Game tournament on Wednesday, November 17th that will be hosted by Howard Lederer. There will also be an array of Rush Poker events as well as four different Draw Games, which Full Tilt added to the software earlier this month.
Full Tilt Poker is guaranteeing $19 million in prize money for the series, including the Main Event, a $600 No Limit Hold’em tournament that has a $3 million guaranteed prize pool and will be hosted by Gus Hansen.

Ziigmund Battered for $490k
In his defense, Sahamies feared no one as he played over 1,000 hands against sharks such as Phil Ivey, Dan “jungleman12” Cates and Brian Hastings.
Unfortunately for Sahamies, every aforementioned player was able to rake a huge sum from the Finn.
Ivey and Hastings were both victorious at the $200/$400 Six-Max PLO tables where Ziigmund lost $190k.
Sahamies found no relief in heads-up play either, as Cates absolutely smashed him for over $270k.
After the session finally concluded, Sahamies found himself down $1.2 million in 2010. It’s the first time this year Ziigmund been down more than $1 million and he’s going to need a huge comeback if he wants to get even before the year concludes.
It was a very different story for jungleman12 who finished his session up a total of $384k.
Cates is starting to pull away as the biggest winner of 2010 with $4.6 million. Tom Dwan is second with $3.9 million and Phil Ivey is third with $3.2 million.
Speaking of Ivey, the Team Full Tilt Pro finally made an appearance at the high stakes online tables after a brief hiatus.
He didn’t show any signs of rust as he destroyed his competition and raked $174k in a scant 48 hands.
Other big winners included Brian Hastings with $214k in profit, harrington25 with $95k and Gus Hansen with $83k.
Joining Sahamies in the losing column were DrugsOrMe (-$229k), DIN_FRU (-$74k) and Niki Jedlicka (-$64k).

URnotINdanger2 Rules Weekend
Palmer played 1,874 hands and was a big winner in a $500/$1,000 PLO Heads-Up game against Gus Hansen but also won a considerable amount in a $200/$400 Six Max PLO game against harrington25, Arbianight and trex313.
To say there’s some variance in Palmer’s game would be an understatement as he’s gone into the red and then bounced back at least seven separate times this year.
At one point this year URnotINdanger2 was down $428k but after this weekend he’s now up $441.
Dan “jungleman12” Cates, a close friend of Palmer, also had a fantastic weekend winning nearly $200k. He only played 256 hands of heads-up PLO but that was all it took for the durrrr Challenge II competitor to earn a nice profit.
Prior to the last week, Tom Dwan and Cates had been neck and neck for the biggest online winner of 2010 but now it appears Cates is pulling away.
Cates is now up to $4.3 million, easily passing Dwan, who has been idle this week and sits with $3.9 million on the year.
Arbianight was the other big winner of the weekend pulling in a total of $248k.
Meanwhile luckexpress10 chugged his way to $158k in losses this weekend. FinnishNightmre was close behind with $156k in losses.
Other donators included superbaldas who dropped $136k and Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies who last $124k.
Ziigmund has had some huge problems online lately and has essentially nose-dived in the last three weeks. He’s now down $878k in 2010.

Gus Hansen wins over a quarter million at CAP PLO
Hansen Clears $600k in One Week
Hansen plowed through 4,124 hands on the site and recorded huge heads-up wins against Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, DrugsOrMe and Arbianight.
By Friday Hansen had won a total of $606,497 in a seven-day span and is up over $2 million in the last four weeks.
It’s been a swingy 2010 for the Great Dane as he charged to a $2 million profit, then donated it all back and more, to hit rock bottom in mid-October at -$3.6 million.
Since then he’s managed to reduce his deficit to -$1.6 million and if the wins keep coming he might be even within the next few weeks.
The next biggest winner this week was David “Raptor” Benefield who won $206k. Always a consistent player, Benefield has grinded his way to $1.8 million this year without much fanfare.
Current durrr Challenge competitor Dan “jungleman12” Cates also had a successful week winning $155k. Surprisingly Cates is relatively new to PLO but has been stacking seasoned opponents in the game all week. He remains the biggest winner in 2010 with $4.2 million in profit.
Meanwhile the poker gods frowned upon Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, who had a disastrous week losing $444,886.
Sahamies is now down a total of $753k this year and if he keeps losing at the current rate he’ll be the biggest loser of 2010 in short order.
Other big losers this week included Van Marcus (-$156k), URnotINdanger2 (-$151k), theASHMAN103 (-$133k).

Hansen Continues Winning Ways
The Great Dane has been absolutely on fire recently and is already the biggest winner in the young month of November with nearly $300k in profit.
After hitting a low of -$3.6 million on the year in mid-October, Hansen has gone on a $2 million upswing that now sees him down only $1.6 million in 2010.
Last night Hansen was very busy on the virtual Pot-Limit Omaha tables and recorded close to 700 hands against the likes of Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, DrugsOrMe, Arbianight, davin77 and Ingenious89.
He took turns winning pots at both heads-up $500/$1,000 PLO and $200/$400 Six-Max PLO.
The majority of Hansen’s profits came from heads-up, however, as he beat DrugsOrMe out of $150k and Ziigmund out of $100k.
Ziigmund has essentially been in a free fall since the start of October and has had a particularly hard time recording a winning session in the last week. Sahamies is down $652k in 2010.
Although Hansen was by far the biggest winner of the night he had some company at the top with davin77 (+$98k), luckexpress10 (+$54k), Sauce1234 (+$45k) and UPaGrip (+$35k) all making big scores.
DrugsOrMe lost more than anyone, dropping $193k, but Arbianight (-$60k), insyderr (-$55k) and theASHMAN103 (-$36k) also had nights they will likely want to forget.

The Online Railbird Report: Hansen Stays Hot, Marigliano Takes Biggest Pot of Weekend
Great Weekend for Gus Hansen
Hansen was once again one of the busiest players in the high stakes games on Full Tilt Poker over the weekend.
He played a total of 3,301 hands and absolutely crushed his competition, winning a total of $279,531.
His key opponents included Ziigmund at $500/$1,000 Heads-Up Pot-Limit Omaha and David Benefield in the same game. Hansen also recorded some hands of $200/$400 PLO against DIN_FRU, Arbianight and Sauce1234.
Thanks to his haul over the weekend, Hansen is now down only $1.9 million this year. It’s the first time he’s been under the $2 million mark in several months.
Since hitting rock bottom at -$3.6 million in mid-October, Hansen has been steadily climbing and has won over $600k in the last three weeks.
It’s been the complete opposite for Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies who has essentially been in freefall for the last month.
Sahamies was the biggest loser this weekend, dumping a total of $243,365 at the online tables.
The Finn lost a total of $1.7 million in October and is no doubt hoping that November will be far kinder.
Some of the other big winners of the weekend included David Benefield (+$161k), Erik “DIN_FRU” Sagstrom (+$155k), Dan “jungleman12” Cates (+$151k) and DrugsOrMe (+$131k).
On the losing end were Van Marcus (-$185k), URnotINdanger2 (-$133k) and Jani Vilmunen (-$112k).
Finally it’s worth noting that Tom “durrrr” Dwan was the biggest winner in October with $991k earned, despite the fact he played a relatively small (8,825) amount of hands in the month.

Ziigmund down $1.6m for October; durrrr up $990k
Urindanger Drops $519k in One Week
Urindanger, whose brother is Hac “Trex313” Dang, played a total of 3,419 hands over the week.
Urindanger played his usual mix of $200/$400 Six-Max PLO and $500/$1,000 Heads-PLO but by Friday had lost a total of $519k in seven days.
A large portion of the losses came against Gus Hansen, who Urindanger is used to victimizing.
Formerly up nearly $1 million on the year, Urindanger is now down to $425k profit. It’s the lowest he’s been in over 10 months.
Urindanger was easily the biggest loser of the week but another usually consistent grinder was right behind him in losses this week.
Jared “harrrington25” Bleznick played 4,265 and went $328k into the red. Bleznick is still up close to $2 million this year.
At the opposite end of the spectrum was unidentified online player DrugsOrMe who smashed his way to $562k in profit. DrugsOrMe played a great deal of $500/$1,000 Heads-Up PLO and managed to vanquish his competition in almost every session.
Gus Hansen also continued his strong play of the last few weeks and battled his way to a $287k victory over an impressive 10,483 hands. He’s still down $2.1 million but that’s a far cry from the $3.6 million he was down at the start of October.
Fellow Team Full Tilt Pro Patrik Antonius also had a good week as he picked up $247k while Dan “jungleman12” Cates, who is still learning PLO, picked up $211k in the game.
Some of the biggest losers this week beyond Urindanger and harrington25 included Vaga_Lion who lost $230k, NEKOTYAN who dropped $177k and tibster24 down a total of $164k.

Historic WSOP Africa Kicks Off
History is being made this week as the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is holding tournaments on the continent of Africa for the first time. A stop on the WSOP Circuit, “WSOP Africa” is currently underway at the Emerald Resort and Casino in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng, South Africa and will run through the end of the month.
WSOP Africa consists of two events. The first, which started Monday, October 25th, is a $1,100 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha tournament with $300 re-buys for the first three hours and a single $400 add-on available at the end of the re-buy period. Starting stacks were 2,500 chips with blinds beginning at 25/50 and increasing every 60 minutes. This is a three day event with a maximum registrant cap of just 200 players.
The $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em freezeout Main Event kicks off on Thursday, October 28th with a maximum of 500 players starting with 40,000 chips. Once again, blind levels increase every hour and blinds start out at 50/100. Antes will make their initial appearance at level five. This will be a four day event; the field will be narrowed to the final nine by the end of day three, with the final table competition beginning at 10:30am local time on October 31st.
While WSOP Africa is part of the World Series of Poker Circuit, the winners of each of the two events will not be awarded gold rings like the winners at other WSOP Circuit stops. The tournaments also do not count in the WSOP Circuit points rankings – only stops in the United States count – so nobody will earn an automatic spot in the WSOP Circuit National Championship, to be held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas prior to the start of the World Series of Poker next year.
Also taking place during WSOP Africa is the Gus Hansen Charity Event, scheduled for October 27th. R2,000 (USD $287) gets one into the event, while R3,500 (USD $502) gets one a VIP seat at the Great Dane’s table. The Full Tilt Poker pro has had success in World Series of Poker events outside of the United States, winning the £10,000 High Roller Heads-Up tournament at WSOP Europe last month and placing tenth in the £10,000 WSOP Europe Main Event in 2007. All told, Hansen has won $908,782 in World Series of Poker events, just under half ($444,925) coming from that lone bracelet win this past September. Hansen, of course, is scheduled to compete in the WSOP Africa Main Event.
The Emerald Resort and Casino is located on the banks of the Vaal River in Vanderbijlpark, about an hour south of Johannesburg. The casino’s regular poker room is small, housing just six tables, although only four of those are what poker players would actually consider “real” poker tables. Those four feature good, old No-Limit Texas Hold’em, while the other two are really casino games: Casino Hold’em Progressive and River Poker. Two of the tables are reserved for daily cash games starting at 10:00pm, while we presume the other two are for Sit-and-Go tournaments. The Emerald poker room also holds a larger tournament every Sunday at 2:00pm for a minimum of 10 players and a maximum of 40 players. The buy-in is R300 ($43), but the tournament can also be entered for 3,000 Emerald Rewards points.
WSOP Africa comes right on the heels of the WSOP Circuit Regional Championship, which commenced on Monday, October 25th, at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana. 226 competitors hit the felts in the $10,000 buy-in event to battle it out for the $525,000 first prize. The final nine players, in addition to receiving attractive paychecks, will earn seats in the WSOP Circuit National Championship.
Gus Hansen wins $500,000; loses $350,000 in two days
DrugsOrMe on $210k High
DrugsOrMe, who first appeared on the high stakes online poker scene in late summer of this year, played 1,181 hands in $200/$400 and $500/$1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha.
One of DrugsOrMe’s key opponents was Gus Hansen, who’s been on a heater as of late.
DrugsOrMe put an end to Hansen’s hot streak by beating him for over $150,000 in $500/$1,000 Heads-Up PLO.
From there DrugsOrMe went on to the daily $200/$400 Six-Max game that included harrington25, Jani Vilmunen, Urindanger, La Key U and URnotINdanger2.
DrugsOrMe was able to turn a profit there as well and ended up finishing his evening with $210,284 in profit.
DrugsOrMe is now up to $891k on the year and is starting to make a name for himself as an upcoming player to watch.
On the other hand Hansen was able to recoup some of his losses against DrugsOrMe but still finished the evening down $87k. Not a big deal for the Great Dane considering he’s currently down $2.3 million in 2010.
Di “Urindanger” Dang was the biggest loser of the evening, down a total of $126k. It’s been a rough month for Dang as he’s gone from nearly $1 million in profit to under $400k.
harrington25, another player on a serious downswing, lost $119k, while tibster24 dropped $105k and DaEvils finished $87k in the red.
Last night’s biggest winners included UarePileous who picked up $164k, URnotINdanger2 with $146k, Jani Vilmunen and even Team Full Tilt pro Erick Lindgren who won $20k playing significantly smaller stakes.
Here’s a collection of the biggest hands last night. Be sure to check out our online poker stats section for more information.

The Online Railbird Report: Good Times For Gus
harrington25 Smashed for $247k
Bleznick, who hails from Roslyn, New York, logged 808 hands in the high stakes games last night including sessions in Six-Max $200/$400 Pot-Limit Omaha, Heads-Up $100/$200 PLO and even Heads-Up $500/$1,000 H.O.R.S.E.
It was worth noting that harrington25’s competitor at Heads-Up $100/$200 PLO was Dan “jungleman12” Cates.
Cates has admitted in the past that he’s still learning PLO but he managed to win over $50k from harrington25 last night.
The rest of harrington25’s losses were mostly recorded in a Six-Max game that included Gus Hansen, Urindanger, LokoIsBack, Van Marcus and La Key U.
By the time Bleznick finally decided to call it quits he had lost a total of $247k. It was a rare occurrence for Bleznick, who has been steadily building to over $2 million in profits in 2010. After last night he’s down to $1.8 million.
Brian “sbrugby” Townsend was actually the biggest winner last night as he raked in $135k. Unfortunately that barely even put a dent in the $1.5 million in losses he’s amassed this year. Not to mention the $2.5 million lost on his “Brian Townsend” account.
Dan “jungleman12” Cates, thanks in part to harrington25, was the second biggest winner with $123k in profit.
The top five was rounded out by Coragyps111 ($39k), G3N371X($32k) and LokoIsBack ($31k).
Losers on the evening included Urindanger (-$59k), La Key U (-$52k), bixiu (-$41k) and David Oppenheim (-$25k).

Gus Hansen crushes “Urindanger” in an 11 hour marathon session
Gus Hansen still keeps having the good flow on Full Tilt Poker as he just quit the victorious 11 hour long marathon session against Di “Urindanger” Dang.
‘
“Urindager” lost about $400k to Hansen, while Hansen has won about $465k in the last 24 hours.
They played $500/$1k Cap PLO, so there was no huge pots to be seen. Hansen’s games at Cap PLO are running smoothly as just last week he won $600k from “Luukie21″.

Gus Hansen crushes “Urindanger” in an 11 hour marathon session
Hansen Continues to Crush
Last night Hansen logged onto Full Tilt looking for action and immediately found a willing competitor in constant rival Di “Urindanger” Dang.
The pair opened several tables of heads-up $200/$400 and $500/$1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha and proceeded to play nearly 2,000 hands.
Hansen essentially beat Urindanger up over the span of the session and eventually finished up $447k.
In the last two weeks Hansen has raked in over $1.3 million and is showing no signs of slowing down. Although the Great Dane is still down $2.2 million this year, he’s doing much better then when he was down $3.6 million at the start of the month.
Meanwhile Urindanger, who has yet to dip into the red this year, is holding on with a $612k profit in 2010.
In other high stakes news last night Luukie21 managed to win $161k, which was his best result in the last few days.
Other winners included bixiu ($78k), EazyPeazy ($75k), rumprammer ($69k), Shawn Buchanan ($53k) and jungleman12 ($43k).
Tom Dwan finally played a session last night but for some reason it wasn’t a durrrr Challenge II one against jungleman12. Dwan ended up losing $62k over 95 hands.
Dwan was joined in the losing category by Vaga_Lion (-$93k), sbrugby (-$77k), LokoisBack (-$57k) and Markus Golser (-$52k.

Poker News in Brief: Oct. 18-24
The two players were officially chosen as this year’s Poker Hall of Fame inductees and with 10 WSOP bracelets and over $16 million in tournament winnings it was hard to argue with that decision.
Add in a star-studded Festa al Lago, a record-setting WSOPC event and a huge online heater by Gus Hansen and poker fans had plenty to chew on this week.
Fortunately as part of our ongoing Poker News in Brief feature we’ve compiled a list of the lesser-known stories below.
This week we’ll take a look at CardRunners' 2,000th video, a new WSOP iPad app and a new indie poker film.
Lederer: Raise Poker HOF Age to 40
Howard Lederer made a strong argument in the Full Tilt blog this week to raise the age of eligibility into the Poker Hall of Fame.
After congratulating fellow Mayfair poker players Erik Seidel and Dan Harrington on their induction, Lederer went on to say that poker should follow other popular professional sports like football and basketball and introduce a minimum age requirement to make sure players have stood the test of time.
Lederer pointed to Chip Reese, who was the youngest player inducted to the Poker Hall of Fame at 40, as an excellent cutoff point.
Lederer also cited Phil Ivey as a strong advocate of his cause. Lederer said that Ivey was even thinking of respectfully declining if he was chosen for the Hall of Fame this year.
Currently there are no age restrictions on the Poker Hall of Fame.
CardRunners Celebrates 2,000th Video
Popular online poker training site CardRunners hit a new milestone this week by posting its 2,000th video.
The 2,000th video, which was recorded by Brian “Stinger” Hastings, was a memorable one with Hastings sharing some of his experience from playing with Phil Ivey, Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies and Urindanger.
Since starting in 2005, CardRunners has revolutionized the way training sites work and now has more than 10,000 subscribers.
The current CardRunners roster of instructors includes Hastings, Dan “jungleman12” Cates, Andreas “Skjervoy” Torbergsen and Mickey “mement_mori” Petersen.
WSOP Launches iPad App
The WSOP released its first official iPad app this week.
The app is a game titled “WSOP Hold’em Legend” which was developed by game maker GLU who also designed the WSOP iPhone app.
WSOP Hold’em Legend is similar to the iPhone app but has been optimized for the resolution of the iPad.
In addition the game’s multi-player function has improved so that up to six players can play online on their iPad or iPhone.
WSOP Hold’em Legend is now available in the iTunes app store.

Poker Film Wins Audience Award
Yet another poker movie has been produced but this one is actually generating solid reviews and winning awards.
Hitting the Nuts is a mocumentary about the 2007 Scott County Series of Poker starring Joe Byrd, Matthew Donnelly and Tara Rice.
The film is about an annual illegal poker tournament in Scott County, Indiana. In the movie Scott County is essentially a farm system for the bigger poker circuits.

Gus Hansen wins $600,000 at Full Tilt Poker
Gus Hansen keeps winning - This time “Luukie21? takes a hit
Gus Hansen’s October didn’t start that good. He lost 1,5 million dollars in a short time, but now “The Great Dane’s” luck seems to have changed at the Full Tilt Poker’s high stakes tables.

Hansen’s grip is still strong as today the Maltese player “Luukie21″ lost around $600k in $500/$1k Cap PLO. Hansen has now won 1,2 million dollars in just two weeks, so his losses for the month are only $400,000 anymore.
Hansen has to work a bit harder though, as he is still down 2,5 million dollars this year.

Hansen Stomps Luukie21
Hansen has now won $1.2 million in two weeks and is inching closer and closer to getting even after being down $3.6 million at one point this year.
The Great Dane recorded an epic 2,146 hand session last night where he played $200/$400 PLO, $500/$1,000 Seven-Card Stud and $1,000/$2,000 H.O.R.S.E.
The majority of the session, however, was played in heads-up $500/$1,000 PLO against recent online upstart Luukie21.
Heading into the session Luukie21 was riding a serious hot streak that saw him win over $200k in the last week.
It all came to a crashing end last night as Hansen crushed Luukie21 for an astounding $595k.
Hansen later donated a small portion of his winnings to some of the other high stakes players but he still finished with an extra $582k in his bankroll.
Meanwhile Luukie21 made a valiant effort to erase his deficit and actually finished down just $480k but still a terrible day for the unidentified online player.
With his huge victory last night Gus Hansen is officially not the biggest loser of 2010. That dubious honor goes to Brian Townsend who is down $2.5 million.
Hansen is only down $2.4 million now. It’s worth nothing that Townsend is currently playing under his sbruby alias and that account is down $1.5 million, which means his actual losses are closer to $3.5 million.
Some of the other big winners from last night included rumprammer (+$151k), Ziigmund (+$90k), URnotINdanger2 (+$78k).
Losers were Arbianight (-$160k), DrugsOrMe (-$103k), harrington25 (-$55k) and howitfeelslike (-$24k).

Gus Hansen won $700k in a week
Gus Hansen has lost 1,5 million dollars this month at Full Tilt Poker’s high stakes tables. Last week was good for the Dane though as he has managed to win back about 700,000 dollars.

Hansen was the biggest winner last night when he earned about $100k - although he is still down about $800k this month. It wasn’t a big win, but looks like he is heading the right way.
Apart from Hansen’s wins the October’s results haven’t changed that much: Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies is still the biggest loser (-$1,65M) and Tom “durrrr” Dwan is the biggest winner (+1M) even though he hasn’t been online for nearly two weeks now.
