High-stakes moves to HORSE: Ivey wins $1.1 million
After losing more than $2 million this year playing No-Limit and Pot-Limit games, Full Tilt pro Gus Hansen decided to change it up by moving to Limit H.O.R.S.E., where the game rotates through five poker variations rather than sticking to just one.
And just as Hansen had predicted, once the online sharks spotted him in the water, they abandoned the old games and swam right over.
In fact, almost the entire high-stakes world ignored the Omaha and Hold'em tables last night to sit with Hansen for some high-stakes H.O.R.S.E.
In the movie Rounders, Matt Damon's character suggested poker players are like piranhas on The Nature Channel, you never see them eat each other.
But the line couldn't have been more wrong last night as the the high-stakes predators turned against one another in their lust for action, practically leaving Hansen alone.
Despite sitting for over 2,500 hands, Hansen lost just $68k on the night.
Instead, it was Ivey taking control of the table, blowing away everyone who stood in his way to book a $1.1 million dollar profit, mostly through Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond (-$444k), Tom "durrrr" Dwan (-$343k), Chau Giang (-$289k) and David Oppenheim (-$245k).
After such an amazing night of action, it's almost a certainty the high-stakes regulars will return to the mixed game to chase their losses.
But it's doubtfull Ivey, who has proved over the last decade that mixed games are one of his biggest strengths, is going anywhere.

Timoshenko, Flack confirmed for World Open V
Perhaps no one is hotter than Timoshenko at the moment.
Since August 2008, he's won the APT Macau main event, the WPT World Championship and the PokerStars WCOOP Main Event, totalling $4.2 million in prize money in those three events alone.
Timoshenko was also in prime position to make the final table of the 2009 WSOPE before busting out in 25th.
Meanwhile Flack is one of the most well-known poker players in the world and has already won six WSOP bracelets and one WPT title. Never one to shy away from controversy, the outspoken Flack is instantly recognizable at a poker table.
English player George has been garnering a great deal of media attention lately after accepting a heads-up challenge against Tom "durrrr" Dwan and then putting in a strong showing in the PokerHeaven European Cash game.
The 48-person field also includes Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Luke "FullFlush" Schwartz, Jennifer Tilly, JC Tran, Phil Laak, Ian Frazer, James Akenhead and several other big-name poker players.
"The early money is for durrrr, which isn't really a surprise, but favorites do not have a good record in this competition," said a PartyPoker spokesperson. "We're delighted with the field. Every heat features a super strong line-up."
The spokesperson went on to mention that one of the best heats features Timoshenko, Akenhead, Schwartz and Frazer at the same table.
Past winners of the shootout-style World Open include Lee Nelson, Liam Flood and Anthony Hardy.
Last year Marty Smyth outlasted all competitors and then beat Neil Channing heads-up to take down the $250,000 first-place prize in the World Open IV.

High roller Glantz takes EPT London £20k
Glantz, who hails from Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania, outlasted a field of 75 elite players to grab the title and £542,000 first-place prize Friday.
"There were tons of great players," Glantz said. "Probably, out of the top 100 tournament players in the world, 50 to 60 were in this tournament."
Among those who put up the £20,000 buy-in were Full Tilt's Phil Ivey, Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott and Team PokerStars Pros Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer, Barry Greenstein, and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier.
The final table featured 2007 WPT Five Diamond champ Eugene Katchalov, 2008 November Niner Dennis Phillips, and online nosebleed stakes legend Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies.
Glantz beat Erik Cajelais heads-up, a little over a week after Cajelais took down his first major tournament, winning the 2008 WSOPE $2,500 Pot-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha event.
Primarily a cash-game pro, Glantz' previous top tournament finish was a fourth place finish for $568,320 at the 2008 WSOP $50k H.O.R.S.E. event and said he plays tournaments more for the competition than the cash.
"I don't plan on ever making a living from tournaments," he said. "It's like a challenge. It's like a sport to me. Cash games are more of a grind, doing the same thing over and over again, while tournaments are more of a meta-game.
"Cash games are more of a logical way to beat your opponents while in tournaments it's more fun to try to get inside your opponent's head."
In fact, Glantz admitted he has difficulty finding the motivation to play tournaments, considering the cash stakes he regularly plays.
"To tell you the truth, I know it sounds crazy, but this one was harder to get motivated for because you are putting up £20,000 to win £500,000," he said. "You're only getting 25 to 1 on your money and you have to beat 75 great players, so it's hard to motivate you there.
"On the other side it was nice to only have to beat 75 players as opposed to a big tournament where you have to beat like 2,000 players - it seemed a lot more attainable."
Glantz, who regularly blogs about playing high-stakes cash, prop betting, cross booking and playing Chinese Poker for $1,000 a point with some of the biggest names in the game, said he hopes the money doesn't get bled off there.
"That's Roland (de Wolfe's) plan and some other friends I have, but no, we don't play that big in Chinese, we play big enough, you can lose enough, but not those numbers."
For now, Glantz plans on playing the main event at PokerStars EPT London before heading back to the United States.

The “durrrr” Challenge: Dwan retakes lead with $275,000 Win
The life of Ivey: $950k in 756 hands
Ivey sat for most of the day yesterday playing a mix of six-max $500/$1,000 No-Limit Hold'em and Fixed-Limit HORSE, crushing all opposition for over $950,000.
Surprisingly, Ivey's largest No-Limit pot came in at just over $200k, only the sixth largest pot of the day.
The largest pot, worth $448k, belonged to Antonius with kingsofcards, the most recent addition to the regular high-stakes degenerates, on the losing end.
Mostly thanks to Antonius, Marchese's session could not have gone much worse, booking a loss worth well over half a million dollars.
Despite the beating he gave Marchese, Antonius's losses to Dwan and Ivey still resulted in the Finnish pro losing nearly $50k, including $270 dropped in a 400 hand session of the durrrr Challenge.
Full details and updates on the latest Challenge session can be found here.
Gus Hansen stayed away from all No-Limit Hold'em and Pot-Limit Omaha tables, choosing instead to play Limit HORSE. But thanks to Benyamine, Ivey, Richard Ashby and Sahamies, Hansen still booked a whopping loss of over $840k.
Finally, action instigator martonas had another losing session, this time minimizing his losses to just over $100k.
With this recent donation bringing his results to a new career low of over $2.5 million in losses, one has to wonder where the unknown Swede finds the funds to refill his roll.
With multiple players taking swings over $500k over the last few days, all signs point to this weekend being absolutely filled with high-stakes action.
Keep your browser pointed to MarketPulse to stay on top of it all.
Here are the three largest pots of the day (not including any durrrr Challenge action):

Sick action: Ziigmund, durrrr, martonas, Ivey
After winning close to $200k a night earlier, it appears martonas booked over a half a million in losses on the session despite winning the second largest pot of the night.
Outside of the one $284k pot it was literally a martonas bloodbath, as he lost a string of pots in the $200k range to Tom "kingsofcards" Marchese, Aaron "aejones" Jones and Tom "durrrr" Dwan.
Despite his strong presence in the top pots of the night, Marchese ended his session down around $60k, but mostly thanks to martonas, Jones walked away from the tables with over $350k in profits.
The surprise of the night would have to be Phil Ivey joining martonas in the red. A quick addition of the nights biggest pots show poker's most feared player down nearly $300k.
But the real story was a common one on Full Tilt's high-stakes tables: Tom Dwan playing Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies heads up on his own $500/$1,000 PLO tables.
Although concrete numbers have yet to surface, it looks as though Dwan managed to come out ahead in the battle.
Out of the 23 pots from the session to make the top 100 list (worth a combined $3.7 million) Dwan came out nearly $150k in the black.
Below are the three largest pots of the night. For a look at pages full of Ferrari-sized pots, head over to MarketPulse and get a real feel for last night's action.

FullFlush threatens to break durrrr at WSOPE
But that didn't stop the outspoken Londoner from dropping by the Casino at the Empire to rail the action and a few horses he's put in the event.
"It's bullshit," Schwartz said. "There was something at the Vic [London's Grosvenor Victoria Casino] ages ago when I wouldn't take off my hat and now I'm nationally barred from all the casinos. But I've just snuck in and won about five grand on the roulette."
The brash 25-year-old burst onto the high-stakes online poker scene earlier this year posting significant profits against the likes of Tom "durrrr" Dwan, David "Raptor" Benefield and Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond.
But he's perhaps best known for the often visceral brand of trash talk he brings to the chatbox online.
Schwartz has verbally attacked just about everyone who's crossed his path, but he seems to have a particular dislike for Dwan.
"I don't like seeing durrrr just own off the poker world and just win all the money from all the other fish," he said. "I don't mind if Patrik [Antonius] and [Phil] Ivey win. I just can't stand durrrr. I can't stand durrrr's face, durrrr's voice, and durrrr's eyes. I can't stand anything about durrrr.
"He's just an arrogant social retard. He's spastic. There's not much more to say than that."
Schwartz takes particular issue with how he believes Dwan built his bankroll, claiming his money was made chiefly from beating Cirque du Soleil founder and reported high-stakes fish Guy Laliberté out of millions.
"He thinks he's the best, but he's just so annoying," Schwartz said. "People just don't even realize if Guy had not existed in this poker world, durrrr would be nowhere."
Although he's particularly vocal regarding his distaste for Dwan, the online phenom doesn't appear to be his only target.
Some of the biggest names in the game turned up for Day 1b of the WSOPE main event, including four-time WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu, 2008 WSOPE main event champ John Juanda and 2000 WSOP Main Event champ Chris "Jesus" Ferguson.
But Schwartz' respect for poker's elite players seems limited as well.
"All these big players that you hear of, like Negreanu and all these old guys, they all won when there was better fish around - that's why they're famous," he said. "Obviously they did well and took advantage of poker when it was easy, but now it's tough. It's fucking hard to win now."
In recent months, the name __FullFlush1__ has been missing from the high-stakes games on Full Tilt Poker.
Schwartz says he withdrew most of his winnings from the site and because of a $5,000 per day and $15,000 per month limit on deposits, and a bit of a bad run trying to spin up the relatively small deposits into a sufficient bankroll for the bigger games, he's been forced to take his action elsewhere and avoid any confrontations with his nemesis Dwan.
Dwan is currently in London taking part in several events, including Matchroom Sports' durrrr Million Dollar Challenge, where he will take on Sammy "any two" George and a series of players yet to be named in 500-hand live heads-ups matches with a $500k buy in.
But Schwartz said he is unlikely to challenge his rival there.
"I'm not much of a live player and sitting down with $500,000 is obviously quite deep, so it's not the first thing that comes to my mind," he said. "But I would like to do a challenge with him of some sort at some stage quite soon."
It appears more likely that he will eventually meet Dwan online in Full Tilt's 50,000 hand durrrr Challenge, although Dwan is still in the midst of taking on Antonius and Schwartz isn't quite sure he's ready.
"I'd like to do that," he said. "I'd do that right now at $100/$200 with durrrr snap, but $200/$400 is a bit much. I suppose I could do that with my roll right now, but I'd feel like I was short if I started getting stuck right away."
Both players are set to take part in the PKR Heads Up Grand Slam in London beginning Oct. 8 and will meet there if they both reach the semifinals.
Anxiously awaiting the start of that, Schwartz sounded more than eager to get a shot at Dwan no matter where it is.
"I've smashed him," he said. "I'm up like 600 grand on him online. I would be up 800 grand, but we did these 200 grand flips when I was tilted one day and he won both of them. I kill this guy. This guy is like an autistic retard. If you just get a little bit into his head he can't deal with it.
"I'm sending him broke before the end of 2010. That's my goal."

Dump and jump: durrrr drops $99k
Being the action junkies they are, Galfond and Marchese remained at the table to play some high-stakes heads up.
The heads-up play lasted for close to an hour before Tom "durrrr" Dwan took POKERBLUFFS' old spot at the table between the two players.
Interestingly enough, Dwan's stay at the table was almost the exact antithesis of POKERBLUFFS'.
Dwan had literally just sat down at the table long enough to get the button for the second time when he played his first pot and lost his entire $99,000 stack to Marchese's rivered straight.
This one hand from Dwan appears to be the hand to have ended the session with all three players logging off for the night.
In the end, it was Galfond who took the most profit with Marchese leaving up less than $25,000, despite his $200k pot.
Here are the three most important hands of the night and you can see the rest by clicking through to PokerListings' MarketPulse.

The Online Railbird Report: Hansen and Sahamies Weather Huge Losses
Gus Hansen takes $700k beating
Hansen actually won one of the biggest hands of the session when he made a better two-pair than South with aces and nines against South's queens and nines. Hansen's hand held up and he collected a $92,138 pot.
But that was one of the few bright spots for Hansen, who would go on to lose countless giant pots, including one worth $112,213 to Dwan where the young cash-game pro flopped a full house and got Hansen to call a $30,000 value-bet on the river.
By the end of the session, Dwan was $221,000 in the black, South recorded $146,000 in profits and Antonius won $124,044.
Hansen ended $698,000 in the hole.
It hasn't been a good year of online poker for Hansen. He started off well, running up over $2 million in profits in the spring, but as summer draws to a close he's down nearly $3 million total.
It's anybody's guess how long even a pro of Hansen's caliber can sustain these kinds of losses.
Head to MarketPulse anytime to see all the biggest high-stakes hands.

Ivey, durrrr play largest pot in TV history
Early highlights included Antonius flopping a set of kings to crack Dwan's pocket aces and drag a $500k pot.
However, the real action began after 20 hours on the felt when all the other players had walked away from the game leaving just Ivey, Antonius and Dwan to play three-handed.
With blinds at $1,000/$2,000 with a $200 ante and more than $2.2 million on the table between the three, Dwan raised.
Ivey re-raised from the small blind and after Antonius folded the big blind, Dwan made the call.
Ivey fired $40k into the Q

3
flop and Dwan flatted. However, when the 4
fell on the turn and Ivey bet again, Dwan raised it up to a whopping $240K.
Ivey tanked, but emerged shoving. Dwan insta-called with 6

for the nut straight and Ivey's A
2
for the smaller straight was drawing dead, leaving Dwan to collect the massive $1.1 million pot.
Dwan also won the previous largest pot in televised poker history during Season 5 of High Stakes Poker when he flopped top pair and a flush draw against Barry Greenstein's pocket aces and turned trips to collect an amazing $919,600.
Full Tilt Poker's Million Dollar Cash Game will air on Sky Sports in the UK in January 2010 featuring commentary from Full Tilt Poker pro Robert Williamson III.

Dates set, Barry calling for fish on HSP 6
"High Stakes is always fun," Eskandani told PokerListings. "You mix the money with the emotions and all those characters and it's going to be good TV."
The full line-up is not yet confirmed, although Eskandani said the show is looking for its usual mix of veteran pros, Internet upstarts and whales from other walks of life.
As has become the norm, the game will feature $400/$800 blinds with a $200,000 minimum/$500,000 maximum buy-in, although Eskandani said players can add another $500,000 as soon as they fall below that mark.
The major difference this year is that prop games will not be allowed.
"It really distracted from the game for the viewers," Eskandani explained.
A veteran of High Stakes Poker, Team PokerStars Pro Barry Greenstein said he will definitely be playing, and he's hoping there will be a few well-bankrolled fish in the mix this season.
"I hope they can get a good line-up," Greenstein said. "They always promise there will be good games. I was happy with the line-up I played in last year, but it wasn't as good as the line-ups they had in the earlier days when there were more recreational players.
"At this point I don't play just to be on television. I play if it's a good game where I can make some money."
Online high-stakes superstar Tom "durrrr" Dwan dominated play in Season 5, winning a High Stakes Poker record $919,600 pot flopping top pair and a flush draw against Greenstein's pocket aces, getting the money in and turning trips.
The most talked about hand of the season saw Dwan push 2008 WSOP Main Event champ Peter Eastgate of trip deuces and Greenstein off pocket aces with top pair, betting $104,300 into a $133,500 pot.
"It's kind of funny," Greenstein explained. "If I'd have made the call there, and I was on the edge one way or the other, I think the perception would have been very different. It would have been like 'what was he doing?'
"He kind of got lucky that Peter and I got in the way of each other. Because we both folded he's kind of the poker hero and dominated the table. It's funny how things can go like that."

FullFlush, durrrr set to clash at PKR Heads Up
While each has his work cut out to get there, Dwan and Schwartz will finally meet face to face should each make the semifinals at the Slam.
But first, Schwartz will have to take on WPT Championship winner Yevgeniy Timoshenko and Dwan is matched up with 2009 WSOP Heads-Up runner-up John Duthie in the first round.
Other first round match-ups include 2008 WSOP Main Event champion Peter Eastgate taking on fellow Team PokerStars Pro and first lady of British poker Vicky Coren, while Academy Award nominated actress and WSOP bracelet winner Jennifer Tilly takes on the always entertaining Tony G.
In the meantime, should John Tabatabai beat Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott and Annette Obrestad defeat Ian Frazer in the first round, the two will meet in a rematch of the 2007 WSOPE main event final.
"There are some really exciting clashes lined up for the first round of the PKR Heads Up Grand Slam, but it's also interesting to see what could happen as the tournament develops," said Matchroom Poker's managing director Eddie Hearn.
"The connotations are endless but each match will carry plenty of drama."
The $10k buy-in event will feature just 32 players, including four PKR qualifiers.
The PKR Heads Up Grand Slam will take place from Oct. 8-10 in London's 3 Mills Studios. It will air in eight two-hour episodes on Sky Sports in the UK and be distributed to various International broadcasters.

Cash games take London by storm
The line-up included Ricardo Sousa, Bruno Fitoussi, Andy Black, Leo Margets, Eric Liu, Francois Balmigere, Andrew Feldman, Sammy "any two" George, Simon Munz, Andreas Hoivold and Jens Kyllonen.
And although George has been tagged as a fish by other players on more than one ocassion, he managed to win more than anyone else.
George arrived late but was able to outplay the others, taking a total profit of €24,075 out of the game.
Early on Black and Liu dominated, but as soon as George entered the game he started raking pots. By the time it was all over, Liu had lost €17,425 while Black held on to post a €11,275 profit.
Margets, the last woman standing at the 2009 Main Event, also left with a small profit.
Seven one-hour episodes of the game will now be edited for television and will air on The Poker Channel every Friday at 22:00 CET from Oct. 9.
In the meantime, George is scheduled to play heads-up with Tom "durrrr" Dwan in London later this month.
As a part of a live durrrr Challenge event presented by Matchroom Sport, the two are expected to play a total of 500 hands of Pot-Limit Omaha or No-Limit Hold'em heads-up with $500,000 at stake.
A firm date has yet to be announced, but it clearly won't be Sept. 16 and 17 when Dwan will be joining a stellar line-up of Full Tilt Pros for yet another high-stakes cash game in the British capital.
Full Tilt Poker is playing host to the 2009 Million Dollar Cash Game event and pros Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson, Justin "Boosted J" Smith, Patrik Antonius, Gus Hansen, Mike Matusow, Allen Cunningham and Howard Lederer are all confirmed to play.
In addition to Dwan, David Benyamine and Doyle Brunson are likely to appear.
Phil Ivey raked an $807,400 pot during the 2007 edition of the Million Dollar Cash game and it was considered the largest amount ever won in a single hand of a televised cash game at the time.
There have since been several pots on GSN's High Stakes Poker that cracked the $900,000 mark.

Patrik Antonius in sick six-max action
The top three pots alone were worth over $1.28 million and the next five largest totalled just over $1 million.
Patrik Antonius took top honors for the night, winning over $383k, thanks in large part to taking down the first, second and fourth largest pots.
The single biggest pot of the night came as a gift to Antonius after he flopped the nut flush against Tom "durrrr" Dwan. Although we don't know for sure what Dwan held, we do know it was good enough to call a final $163k on the river.
Losing this pot played a big part in why Dwan was down nearly $450k over the 363 hands played.

Katchalov, Jaffe strike WCOOP gold
Katchalov had to go through 11 players to win the $530 No-Limit Hold'em Heads-Up event and grabbed $140,000 for his efforts.
The event offered a significant overlay from PokerStars, which originally offered a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million, but came short when only 1,564 players registered. Undaunted PokerStars threw in the extra $218,000 and the players who cashed picked up some extra value.
Team PokerStars Pro William Thorson came painfully close to winning the event, but was eventually sent to the rail in fifth place during the ninth round.
Instead Katchalov dispatched online player JakusKhan in last match of the tournament. In the final hand JakusKhan made an ill-timed all-in shove and Katchalov called him down with two-pair.
In the meantime, Jaffe won the epic $25,000 No-Limit Hold'em Heads-Up event and taking a tidy sum of $415,000 with the victory.
The event drew 36 players including big-name pros like Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Daniel Negreanu, Peter Eastgate, Sorel Mizzi, Brian Hastings, Barry Greenstein, Ashton Griffin, Bertrand Grospellier and many others.
Eastgate outlasted all of his Team PokerStars peers before eventually crashing out during the quarterfinal round against Adonis112.
Adonis112 would go on to lose to Sifosis in the final four while Jaffe beat Mizzi to guarantee his spot in the final round.
Heads up for the title, Sifosis quickly jumped to a 2.5 to 1 chip lead, but Jaffe managed to battle back and eventually take charge.
In the deciding hand of the tournament Jaffe flopped a trip fives while Sifosis nailed two-pair. All the chips went in the middle and Jaffe's hand held giving him the prestigious $25,000 WCOOP Heads-Up title.
This is the final week of WCOOP action and it's all leading up to the $10 million guaranteed two-day Main Event, which will take place this coming Sunday Sept. 20 at 4:30 ET.

Hometown hero wins PartyPoker in the Sky
Jorgensen triumphed while being suspended 50 meters above the Copenhagen Town Hall.
"The fact that the game was high up in the sky certainly added a different element to my play," said Jorgensen. "I'm not at all scared of heights and am a fan of bungee jumping so I targeted players who I thought were as keen to get down as quick as possible with aggressive play.
"In addition, I targeted those who I deduced had less experience. I think there were better players than me on the platform, but I kept out of their way as much as possible. The strategy worked."
Jorgensen mentioned he was already looking forward to the World Open V, which takes place Oct. 11-15. Elite poker players like Mike Sexton and Tom "durrrr" Dwan are already scheduled to play.
"I'm delighted to have won the World Poker Open V package - if that event was held 50 meters up I still think I would have some serious problems with players like Mike Sexton and Tom Dwan," said Jorgensen.
Last year Irishman Marty Smyth beat out Neil Channing to take down a first place prize of $250,000. PartyPoker.com is still running qualifiers for this year's World Poker Open.

FullFlush, durrrr headline PKR heads-up tournament
Organizers are promising a deep structure that will let skilled players rise to the top.
"We have been looking at creating a heads-up event for a while now and I'm excited that we have the formula just right," said Eddie Hearn, managing director of organizer Matchroom Sport.
"Shows such as the NBC Heads-Up Championship have attracted huge ratings and we expect this event to continue that trend."
A broadcast of the draw for the event will be shown on both MatchroomPoker.com and ((PKR)).com Oct. 7, featuring famed poker TV personality Jesse May.
But the biggest draw of the tournament is some of the big name players that PKR has already confirmed, including Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Luke "FullFlush" Schwartz, Annette Obrestad, Nam Le, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Vicky Coren, Roland de Wolfe, J.C. Tran, and Andrew Feldman.
A live renewal of the online rivalry between the legendary Dwan and trash-talking Schwartz could be of particular interest to poker fans.
PKR players can also qualify for one of six open seats through satellites on the site.
Organizers say even more big names will be added to the Heads-Up Grand Slam tournament over the next month.

Sick lineup for Poker After Dark cash game
Players will find themselves confronted with $200/$400 blinds and a $100 ante to start, which should help produce a number of awe-inspiring monster pots.
This marks the second year that NBC has aired two weeks of cash game episodes on Poker After Dark.
Just like last year, players will draw for seats, but then redraw half-way through the game to give viewers a different table dynamic.
This is the first year that Finnish cash-game maniac Ziigmund will be making an appearance. Sahamies is renowned for his Pot-Limit Omaha skills, relentless aggression and some of the best trash talk on the Internet.
Unfortunately, he hasn't exactly lit the world of TV cash-game poker on fire. Earlier this year he appeared on GSN's High Stakes Poker, but was fairly quiet, allowing durrrr to steal the show by winning hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Dwan could very well duplicate that effort on Poker After Dark, but it will be tough as the other players at the table are likely no strangers to poker fans.
Ivey is on the biggest heater of his life after winning two 2009 WSOP bracelets over the summer and a seat at the Main Event final table.
Antonius is having a banner year online with nearly $4 million in profits and he'll look to keep that streak going on the live tables.
Meanwhile, Elezra has as much gamble as anyone and will be doing his best to get all of his chips in the middle.
Finally, Lederer brings a lifetime of cash game experience to the table and the man they call the "Professor" will be surely looking to school some of the young upstarts in the game.
The program begins airing on NBC tonight (Sept. 7) and can be seen for five consecutive nights in the late night time slot of 2:05 a.m.
There is also special director's cut episode to air at 1 a.m. Saturday. The show can be seen in the same time slot next week as well.

An afternoon of high-stakes Hold’em
Half of the players were the million-dollar ballers, while the other half were unknowns and, somewhat surprisingly, it was the newbies who fared best.
Both kingsofcards and David "POKERBLUFFS" Eldar made over $100k and while Ashton "theASHMAN103" Griffin had a losing session dropping $13k, that was just pocket change compared to Antonius's $205k loss.
In the meantime, everyone's favorite online superstar Tom "durrrr" Dwan managed to make a $100k profit, even after losing the two largest pots of the session.
The biggest pot, worth over $207k, saw Dwan get it all in after hitting a 12-out combo draw holding 3
7
on a 10
5
4
flop.
Despite swinging for the fence, Dwan missed both draws, giving the Ferrari-sized pot to the pocket kings held by the aptly named kingsofcards.
Continuing his pattern of playing weak hands for raises, Dwan raised 5
7
from the button a little later, hitting an almost-perfect 7
6
4
flop.
His opponent, knowing Dwan plays any two, called the flop bet sharing Dwan's top pair with J
7
.
The turn brought the 2
, giving rospodin a flush draw with his top pair and that was all the incentive he needed to raise all in.
Dwan called, the river bricked, and the $198k pot was shipped to the unknown rospodin.
The three-hour session was peppered with a number of $100k pots, all of which you can find in our MarketPulse section.
Here are the three largest:

PartyPoker.com aims for the sky
In the event, 22 players will step on a platform and then be hoisted 50 meters in the air above City Hall Square. They will then play a four-hour poker tournament, surrounded by the spires of the city and with actual birds the only railbirds.
Two of the 22 seats will go to celebrity guests, but the rest of the spots are up for grabs on PartyPoker.com - provided you don't have a fear of heights.
The contest is limited to residents of Denmark only and the last satellite will take place tomorrow (Sept. 3).
The 22 poker players will not only have a great view of Copenhagen but the winner of the game will nab a package for the PartyPoker.com World Open V in London in October. Mike Sexton, Tom "durrrr" Dwan and several other well-known pros are already scheduled to play the World Open V.
The Danish winner of the PartyPoker.com Poker in the Sky wins flights, hotels and a $10,000 buy-in for the tournament in London.

They’re back! Millions bet as PLO action blows up
A staggering 95 out of the top 100 pots over the past 24 hours were worth over $100k, and the other five pots were less than $2k short of six digits.
It was the nine-handed $300/$600 PLO table "This is nuts" which saw most of the action, and every seat was filled allowing for some rarely seen full ring PLO action.
Perhaps even more startling was the absence of poker god Phil Ivey. Even with millions of dollars changing hands during the night, Ivey failed to make an appearance.
Although it's not possible to confirm individual results at this time, it appears Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond lost close to $1 million on the night.
Not only did he come up on the losing end of three pots worth over $300k, he lost the largest pot of the night to Sahamies worth over $555k.
When the nine-handed table broke, Tom "durrrr" Dwan and Sahamies took to playing $500/$1,000 PLO heads-up until the early hours of the morning. Mostly thanks to a $426k pot, it appears as if Ziigmund came out of the heads-up session with a profit.
Although Dwan spent the entire night at the tables, he seemed to have lost just as many pots as he won.
Take a look at the three largest pots below, or you can watch them all by clicking through to our MarketPulse section.

Dwan busts martonas?
Dwan left the session with a profit of $1 million, while Galfond came in just behind at $821k.
Galfond made most of his profit ($581k) from the $500/$1,000 No-Limit Hold'em tables, but his final $240k came mostly from martonas at PLO.
It was martonas who shouldered the majority of the Dwan/Galfond winnings ending the night down just under $1 million.
With this latest win Dwan is showing a profit of close to $2.5 million in just three days, the majority of that profit coming almost exclusively from martonas.
After two weeks of heavy action, it looks as if martonas is back to where he started, without a multi-million dollar roll.
Although it's possible he will take another run at the nose-bleed stakes, it's doubtful he has enough funds in his account to take a seat at the big games without first running up his roll at some smaller stakes.
Other players that were deep in the red after last night include Ashton "theASHMAN103" Griffin, down $415k, and online heartthrob Patrik Antonius who dumped $373k.
